Nick Ikonomakis

On September 8, 2021, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission held a public meeting titled “Moving VVSG 2.0 Forward.” The official agenda PDF posted on eac.gov lists Panel 1 — Voting System Manufacturers. One line reads: “Nick Ikonomakis - Vice President of Engineering, Dominion Voting Systems.” He is listed with named representatives of other manufacturers. That is the title this site uses for the engineering job. It comes from that agenda. It does not come from a press paraphrase or a ZoomInfo blurb. This site has not located an official written transcript of his remarks at that panel and does not invent a quote. Being listed as a manufacturer representative at a standards meeting is not a finding that he designed, certified, or altered any particular county’s 2020 results. It is not a crime.

On May 26, 2023, Colorado Deputy Secretary of State Christopher P. Beall signed a letter on Department of State letterhead. The addressee line is: “Mr. Nick Ikonomakis, Vice President, Engineering.” The subject is “Certification of DVS Democracy Suite 5.17.” Beall wrote that, in response to an Application for Modification of a Voting System dated February 14, 2023, and in accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes § 1-5-608.5 and § 1-5-608.5(3.5), he certified Dominion Voting Systems’ Democracy Suite 5.17 for use in Colorado. The letter describes Pro V&V testing under an approved plan and concludes the suite “substantially complies” with the 2002 FEC Voting System Standards and listed Colorado requirements. It is a state certification addressed to a vendor officer. It is not a finding about the 2020 presidential election. It does not charge him with a crime. It does not say he flipped votes.

On June 5, 2012, the USPTO issued U.S. Patent 8,195,505 B2, “System, method and computer program for vote tabulation with an electronic audit trail.” The inventor line is John Poulos, James Hoover, Nick Ikonomakis, and Goran Obradovic. The current assignee listed on the Google Patents record is Dominion Voting Systems Corp. The application was filed May 5, 2005. The patent’s abstract and claims describe ballot-image processing, pixel-count thresholds, and an audit/vote stamp — claim elements, not a finding that any particular election’s ballots were altered, flipped, or stolen. A teaching figure in the specification illustrating inconsistent stamp results is a patent illustration, not a 2020 incident report.

The Google Patents record for U.S. Patent 8,195,505, drawing on USPTO assignment data, shows an application filed May 5, 2005, by Dominion Voting Systems Corp. The same day’s assignment line reads: assigned to DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS; assignors HOOVER, JAMES; IKONOMAKIS, NICK; OBRADOVIC, GORAN; POULOS, JOHN. Priority is claimed to Canadian application 2,466,466 (May 5, 2004). An assignment is a property document. It is not a campaign. The engineering title “Vice President of Engineering” is not on this 2005 assignment; that title is taken from the 2021 EAC agenda and the 2023 Colorado letter, not back-dated onto this filing.

Three later U.S. patents continue the 2005 application and name the same inventors — John Poulos, James Hoover, Nick Ikonomakis, Goran Obradovic — and Dominion Voting Systems as assignee: US9710988B2 (“Marginal marks with pixel count,” July 18, 2017); US9870666B2 (Jan. 16, 2018); US9870667B2 (“Appending audit mark image,” Jan. 16, 2018). Claims concern optical-image pixel counts, thresholds for selected / not selected / ambiguous marks, and appending a vote-stamp or audit-mark image. Those are claim elements. This site does not rewrite “ambiguous mark” into “vote flipping.”

On November 8, 2020, Mellissa A. Carone signed a three-page affidavit later docketed in Costantino material removed to E.D. Mich. No. 2:20-cv-13134. Paragraph 4 names her manager: she confronted “my manager, Nick Ikonomakis,” and swore he told her he didn’t want to hear they had a big problem and that they were there to assist with IT work, not to run the election. The same paragraph describes a jammed tabulator and a PC showing over 400 ballots scanned. Paragraph 2: she “witnessed nothing but fraudulent actions.” Paragraphs 10–11 again name manager Nick and recount a data-loss conversation. Those are her sworn sentences on the scanned filing. They are not a court finding that he committed a crime.

Primary for her words: affidavit PDF + Rev House transcript. She also testified before Michigan Senate Oversight Dec. 1, 2020. She said she was “trained on the adjudication and tabulation process.” She did not say, in the affidavit or Rev House transcript, that Nick trained her “on how to properly cheat” — that phrase is Daniel Harris’s Dec. 1, 2020 tweet (commentary, not her language). This site does not promote her “part owner” line into a title; documented title remains VP of Engineering on EAC/Colorado paper. No ownership primary (stock ledger, SEC officer line, Dominion bio calling him owner) was located this pass.

On November 13, 2020, Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy M. Kenny denied the Costantino plaintiffs’ petition for injunctive relief and wrote that Carone’s “allegations simply are not credible.” That order is one late sourced sentence on this page — not the frame. Filing ≠ finding that her words were never said; it is a TRO denial assessing credibility for injunctive relief.

A December 12, 2023, defense response to a motion in limine stated that defendants had identified “Nick Ikonomakis, Vice President of Engineering,” on their trial witness list, described as a Dominion representative who could authenticate a MITRE report retained to review claims by Dr. J. Alex Halderman. A later order (Dec. 20, 2023) recorded that plaintiffs identified seven people on the defense list who, plaintiffs said, had never been disclosed, including Nick Ikonomakis; the court found the late disclosure not substantially justified or harmless and granted the request to preclude those witnesses. Fact as the docket has it: he was listed with the engineering title; he was then barred from that trial appearance as an undisclosed witness. This site does not have trial testimony from him in that case. The order is not a finding that he rigged Georgia’s elections.

In Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network, Fox’s answering brief opposing Dominion’s motion for summary judgment cites “Ex. E2, Ikonomakis Dep. Tr.” at transcript pages including 66:15–67:1, in a passage about customer questions after an article Fox characterized as “bad for business.” Those fragments are Fox’s brief writing pointing at a deposition exhibit. This site has not obtained the complete Ikonomakis deposition and does not invent his answers. A citation in a brief is evidence that a deposition of that name existed in the case file. No official Dominion “team” or officer biography page for Nick Ikonomakis was located this pass. Aggregator pages (including ZoomInfo “founding VP” blurbs) are not primaries and are not used for titles or employment dates. Preferred-outlet and court coverage of Dominion Voting Systems — Fox settlement, other defamation suits, CEO John Poulos, Eric Coomer — is company coverage unless a primary puts his name on the act. A 2025 change in company ownership, as reported by third parties about Dominion / Liberty Vote, is a company event; no primary located this pass puts Ikonomakis’s name on that transaction.
